LEED
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification is a verification system of a company’s commitment to Going Green by:
- Minimizing energy and water consumption
- Improving indoor air quality
- Reducing CO2 emissions
- Wise stewardship of natural resources
Clearview Cleaning’s LEED-compliant Environmental Impact Cleaning Policy covers prevention, products, equipment, and procedures.
Prevention:
We recommend a system of industrial-strength entryway mats at all high-traffic building entrances to decrease the amount of soil and moisture entering a building—and reduce the costs of removing them.
Products:
Our Green cleaning solutions are high-performing workhorses, without the toxicity levels of traditional products. We meet the guidelines developed by the OGS to minimize harm to the environment and people.
Paper products and plastic garbage bags meet the EPA’s guidelines for disposable janitorial products. We use unbleached paper supplies without added pigments, inks, dyes, or fragrances, and are careful that packaging is appropriate and has minimal environmental impact. Where appropriate, we use microfiber technology in place of disposable paper cleaning products to reduce chemical and water use.
When filling hand soap dispensers, Clearview chooses biodegradable products without unnecessary microbial ingredients and skin irritants. Each OGS-approved skin cleanser is biodegradable and has been thoroughly tested to limit impact on aquatic ecosystems. We recycle soap packaging.
Equipment:
Our janitorial equipment cleans effectively while minimizing environmental impact. Clearview Cleaning’s vacuum cleaners capture 96% of particulates down to 0.3 microns, and keep noise under 70 A-weighted decibels. Our carpet cleaning machines remove enough moisture that carpets can dry in 24 hours or less. Floor maintenance equipment (buffers, burnishers, and automatic scrubbers) keep noise under 70 decibels and use vacuums and guards to capture fine particles. The automatic scrubbers are equipped with variable-speed feed pumps to control the flow of cleaning fluid.
All our equipment uses gel batteries to protect the environment, rubber bumpers to avoid damaging furniture and other surfaces, and is ergonomically designed to minimize vibration, noise, and user fatigue.
Procedures:
During our 15 years of commercial janitorial experience, Clearview Cleaning has developed unique procedures for delivering excellent customer service and top-level cleaning. We promote individual accountability and quickly reward efficient, effective work among our staff. Read more here.
